What is Black History Month? A celebration of what? Victimization? Well, guess what, Bunky–every “race” has been victimized, cannibalized, used, abused, enslaved, you name it. We’re all a minority compared to the Universe. Aren’t we all humans  under our skins? Do you see a lot of humans out there in the Universe yet? That’s my point. Everyone’s a member of a minority  called the Human Being. It’s all a matter of perspective.

Now, the real racial “puritans” out there, those low-down guys and gals who make their living primarily off of “racism”, will argue that some “races” have been disproportionately victimized by others. And they’re right, but the specifics of color, race, creed,  have changed over the ages of Man. Discrimination has occurred throughout the History of our species, especially whenever one group of humans found another group of humans easy to exploit.

Now, do I feel empathy for the “races” and their “plights” in the current Age? Absolutely. I hate injustice and unfairness of any sort. But skin color has nothing to do with that–my basic humanity does.  Do I feel pity? No fucking way. And this is where shit like “Black History Month” loses me. Pity plays into racism, reinforces “victimhood”, and largely fuels the big money-making machines of those who “champion the cause of racism” but do absolutely nothing to rid the world of this crap. Without the golden goose of “racism” there are plenty of folks of all colors, big names, that’d be nothing if not poorer than church mice. The only color they’re really worried about is green, as in greenbacks, and so racism is permitted to continue.

Now, you take a book like The Black Dragon: Racial Profiling Exposed by Joseph Collum. No, really, take a good look at it. Were “minorities” unfairly targeted by New Jersey’s  State Police? You bet they were. But so were white long-haired hippies and anyone else of every color by the troopers looking for the big bust and a red ribbon for “Trooper of the Year.” And that’s just plain wrong. But what’s even worse is that when push came to legal shove, we all got shafted in the end by the politics of the Justice system. Even the white judge who saw beyond skin color to the unfairness, the unconstitutionality, of racial profiling and ruled righteously, according to his humanity, was bent over without grease. Now, if that kind of double dealing doesn’t just piss you off; if the documented injustices alone don’t leave you fighting mad, I submit here and now that you ain’t a real human underneath all that skin, no matter what color your skin happens to be.

Take a Humanity test–read The Black Dragon: Racial Profiling Exposed by Joseph Collum. Then come back here and tell us all what you think we Humans can do to solve the problem. Because the answers, the solutions to sins like injustice and “racism” all start within each of us the minute we refuse to see skin color and start looking for what Martin Luther King, Jr. called “character”. But first, I think, we have to dig deep and find our basic Humanity once again. We have to get fighting mad.  And by the end of this book, if you’re any kind of real human being at all, you will be.

Someday, instead of a Black History Month, or a this History Month, or a that History Month, or a Whatever month Congress decides to declare to buy the votes of the woefully ignorant, maybe we’ll just celebrate our Humanity, every fucking day of the year.

Or maybe aliens from another world will finally touch down here on Earth to remind us we’re still all one species, Mankind, and we just happen to come in a variety of colors.
